We have heard this before. More than 4 years ago, Abadalla, Amara, and Kader were accused of being hijackers. They too were seeking refuge. They still face absurd, devastating charges in Malta.

After two days of back to back workshops and panels, we concluded the #ElHiblu3 Freedom Conference tonight. We built transnational solidarity to counter the criminalisation of migration in Malta and throughout Europe.

The three accused opened the Freedom Conference, speaking about their journey to Malta, their time in prison, and their ongoing trial. They were joined by their legal defense Neil Falzon, as well as Regine Nguini Psaila, @Sunderland_jude, Ramona Lenz 🍊, Jelka and Maurice Stierl.

Racial injustice: 3 teenagers escape #Libya by boat with 100 others. Rescued by a tanker, the captain tries to push them back. The 3 translate & mediate. Pushback prevented, the tanker arrives in Malta. The 3 stand accused of hijacking the ship, still today, 4 years on. #ElHiblu3
