Today in 1865, #MarySurratt was executed by the U.S. government in courtyard of Washington Arsenal, D.C., for her role as a conspirator in #AbrahamLincoln ’s assassination. Since the execution, sightings of Surratt’s ghost have been reported around what is now called #FortMcNair .
