Heading to Oakmont CC next week to see the restorative work Gil Hanse did at the club.

Hope to see you Dave Moore.

Only time for one round of golf.
Business before pleasure.

Can’t wait to see the changes before next year’s U.S. Open!

Finally, we hung this great aerial shot of the course from the 1920s, when all of these events took place. This will likely move once we get the Wadley replica, but it is a beautiful piece for the members to enjoy for now.

Can’t wait to get these on the wall at Youngstown Country Club Monday! Going to be a great display for their members with the other stuff that will accompany these.

We started prep for the at OCC last night with our first in a series of History Nights for the membership, looking back at past U.S. Open championships. Thanks to the great group that came out to learn about 1927 and 1935! Nothing better than talking !

I am prepared for your judgement.
I just couldn’t resist as a member of a Ross course in Florida.

I thought I had a belt problem…now these exist!

Believe it or not this is my rookie card.

My first playing of the pre-1900 gutta percha era, National Hickory Championship.

For the record I won best dressed:)

...and followed that up by removing a small plaque and replacing it with a Mac Smith hickory club and an interpretive panel to tell the story of the event at YCC.

Happy here's our recently graduated Seniors during their Old Time Tournament, where they honored the traditions of the game by playing with hickory clubs while dressed in vintage attire.

Next, we replaced these random placed, golf related items with a stunning 3x5 foot canvas of the Tommy Armour-Johnny Farrell 1927 exhibition at the club. An interpretive panels accompanies it to explain the significance. I love the way this canvas came out.

Today marks the 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣th anniversary of my scorecard from the Gold Medal tournament held at Leith Links in Edinburgh by Thistle Golf Club.

The scorecard, from Scottish banker Donald Smith’s pair of 5-hole rounds, is one of the oldest scorecards known to exist!

Fun fact:

Bobby Jones’ rookie card (left) was made in 1926 in Lambert & Butler’s “Who’s Who In Sport” set…

BUT the exact same image & card format was used in 1927 by British American Tobacco.

Can you spot the two lone small differences between them? 👀
