Today Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called after a bag of batteries was put into general waste. Batteries contain lithium + other metals & acids which caused a series of explosions within our collection vehicle.
Our HWRCs, libraries & most supermarkets have free battery recycling points.
There are NO changes to your waste & recycling collections or access to the HWRCs over the bank holiday.
Please present your recycling, brown bins and blacks sacks on the morning of your normal collection day or book a trip to the tip!
