Here’s me crying over a piece of cloth Patrick Grant & I planted last April in Blackburn with British Textile Biennial team & our wonderful volunteers. Field to fabric: grown, processed, hand spun, dyed, woven & beetled into the U.K.’s first #homegrownhomespun denim in at least 120 years.
Yesterday we planted a field of flax & woad in Blackburn with an enormous amount of help from the local community & supporters. By October we hope to have grown, spun, dyed, woven & sewn a pair of indigo linen jeans for the #HomegrownHomespun project 👉🏽👉🏽 northwestenglandfibreshed.org/north-west-eng…
Congratulations!! This is such a brilliantly hopeful achievement. #homegrownhomespun #growingclothes

@NWEng_Fibreshed Patrick Grant British Textile Biennial Charles Eisenstein Nice piece, thanks. BTW, do you #HomegrownHomespun folks have scutching blades for your flax? If not you can have this one. A bit old for hard work but could be a template for making new ones.
