From seed to Sewing Bee Patrick Grant planted the indigo, then hand-dyed the pocket square he’ll be wearing on next month’s Christmas Special and everyone involved in is so proud and happy. Thank you Farmer Paddy! 💙

Here’s me crying over a piece of cloth Patrick Grant & I planted last April in Blackburn with British Textile Biennial team & our wonderful volunteers. Field to fabric: grown, processed, hand spun, dyed, woven & beetled into the U.K.’s first denim in at least 120 years.

Yesterday we planted a field of flax & woad in Blackburn with an enormous amount of help from the local community & supporters. By October we hope to have grown, spun, dyed, woven & sewn a pair of indigo linen jeans for the project 👉🏽👉🏽 northwestenglandfibreshed.org/north-west-eng…

@NWEng_Fibreshed Patrick Grant British Textile Biennial Charles Eisenstein Nice piece, thanks. BTW, do you folks have scutching blades for your flax? If not you can have this one. A bit old for hard work but could be a template for making new ones.

Inspired by the project, when we helped with last year's harvest, we are growing our own small patch this year and we are delighted to see our first flowers emerging today!
