1/5 🙌 Reflecting on our time at #INC4 , it’s clear that our Coalition has come a long way. Starting with just five scientists at INC-1 in Uruguay, we have grown to more than 350 worldwide with 60 joining this past week in #Ottawa .

Upon invitation by HAC member Belgium 🇧🇪, yesterday evening at #INC4 , members of the High Ambition Coalition to End Plastic Pollution continued exchange with representatives of Environmental Justice NGOs, hearing gut-wrenching accounts of the impacts of #plasticpollution .

Delegates at #INC4 discuss a European Union, proposal calling for additional time for negotiations before #INC5 , calling to adjourn INC-4 and resume the work to identify common areas and landing spots before November 2024.

Last plenary session of #INC4 . Lots of groups of people talking. My face was like that because I was trying to understand what was going on 😆

Goosebumps in the SINTEF group when, right before 2am, we witnessed Brazil and Iraq shake hands and smile 😊 late night diplomacy - and hopefully history in the making in #inc4 in 🇨🇦 and definitely intersectional work!

The second-to-last round of talks for a #plastictreaty have wrapped without agreement on whether or not to mandate a cap on making new plastic, a key demand of some nations and conservationists, but one fiercely opposed by industry and oil producers.

2.16 am, EU proposes to adjourn rather than close #INC4 and hold an INC4.2 to continue the work. GCC countries are obviously saying no. The group of 'like-minded countries' is brought up again and still has not disclosed who is part of it... Are they ashamed of working together?
