This is a day when we honor, recognize, express our gratitude and celebrate Indigenous Nations' ongoing contributions to Jasper, Alberta and Canada as important stewards of the land we live on.

⚠ Significant rain and snow on Monday have closed Maligne and Miette roads in Jasper National Park, Parks Canada.

Parks Canada is working on assessing the safety of roads, including the risk of avalanches or mud slides.

A large amount of snow fell this week in Jasper National Park, Parks Canada

Parks Canada expects Miette Road to open for single-lane traffic for visitors to leave #MietteHotSprings area by 7 pm, June 20. Maligne Road will remain closed for at least 48-72 hours to allow for any avalanches triggered by the storm to come down and to complete debris removal.
