Market rallied last Friday on stronger than expected (ie good news is good news).. Ok.

Today, market rallying on elevated jobless claims (ie bad news is good news)..

Can’t have it both ways. Must be a reckoning in one direction or the other.

The same government report that announced 339,000 new jobs in May also announced 440,000 new unemployed persons, causing unemployment to rise from 3.4 to 3.7%. Since the labor participation rate did not change, both cannot be true.
