It took months to get 170,000 signatures for the #KidsOffNauru petition, and yet the Remove Fraser Anning from Parliament petition topped 1 million in a few days. Are we keener to distance ourselves from Nazis than to actually help Muslims or refugees? Is it all about self-image?
