41 years ago today, the Falklands were liberated by British forces.

Immeasurable sacrifices were made to protect our right to freedom, sovereignty and democracy.

Never take these rights for granted.

Thank goodness Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister when Argentina invaded the Falklands. Her strong leadership ensured the Falklands were liberated. The Iron Lady and our Armed Forces restored Britainโ€™s standing as a global power and a beacon of liberty.

The downfall of a person is sometimes brought forth by their own doing. Daring to be a better version of yourself each day is a superpower.

Happy to the Falklands. 41 years ago the taskforce liberated Stanley and the Islanders were freed. It was an extremely risky operation and one that was bitterly fought. It was a justified operation.

We remember the men who did not come back.

Today is and marks 41 years since the end of the 1982 Falklands War. We remember the huge bravery and courage shown by our amazing Armed Forces, especially the 255 who never returned home. The right to self-determination couldn't be more important today. ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

First Sea Lord Admiral Henry Leach was decisive in convincing Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher to send the Task Force to recover the Falklands:

'Because if we do not...in another few months we shall be living in another country whose word counts for little.'
