May 3, 1810 #LordByron (a Romantic poet & friend of #PercyByssheShelley , a very famous Romantic poet as well) at 22 years of age swam the 4 mile stretch, the Hellespont between Turkey & Greece.
The talented 🇬🇧 actor Hugh Bonneville kindly recited #LordByron ’s last poem, in view of the Commemoration events that took place in #Missolonghi over the weekend.
