Snowglobe snow on a Friday? Yes, please! 😍 Slushy side roads in St. Paul this morning, but saw a number of plows on them, so take it easy and you should be just fine.

Pleasant weather today, but rain showers return late tonight & linger through Saturday morning. Sunny weather returns for the latter half of the weekend.

More rain? Yeah, seems like this active pattern ain’t letting up! Another half inch + of rain is looking possible again tomorrow!

Wintertime convection is always a treat.

Today’s interesting egg is blowing dust mixed in with blowing snow intermingled with convective showers.

Notice the differences in CC and ZDR between SNSH and BLDU-BLSN mix.

All the recent moisture has had its effects: no more drought conditions across much of central Minnesota! Only north of Little Falls drought still persists as of the latest update (from this morning, valid as of Tuesday morning).

Yup, that’s a verifiable blizzard✅
KGFK gusting to 51 mph, 1/8 mile visibility. Visibility has been holding steady under a quarter mile since about 6 am. Several semis and cars stuck on 32nd in Grand Forks, just west of I29.

10pm- if this heavy band makes it up to MSP- watch out. Has a history of 2” per hour snowfall rates. Going to get pretty thick here in a bit. This will be the final push the next few hours before things change to a mix and then rain.
