Plants in the bean family are susceptible to damping off and root rot caused by Rhizoctonia, a soilborne fungus. Today we saw root rot on green beans from a home garden and damping-off of soybeans from a nearby state. Favored by cool, wet soil. #MSUext

Unfortunately, hail can also be produced by storms and cause heavy #mscrops damage. Yield loss largely depends on extent of defoliation relative to #corn growth stage.
