Here’s our motley crew of Highland cattle . From left to right - Nel, then her mum Cadi and Breagha on the right. Native breeds are brilliant for grazing meadows - they evolved together. As the old adage goes, ‘meadows make livestock and livestock make meadows’

Failed on the photo taking front today as I was too busy trying to keep up with a wonderful bunch of volunteers from Haybridge nature reserve and CumbriaWildlifeTrust, who planted over 1200 plugs into this wet meadow as part of the project. Many hands make light work!

Having the opportunity to work for Plantlife over the Summer was fantastic. It was such a fulfilling experience to co-ordinate the project in the South West.

I’m proud to say we restored ~100 acres of wildflower meadows across Devon and Cornwall! 1/2

This week the Southwest have been conducting baseline plant surveys of the fields that will be restored to wildflower meadows this summer!

We’ve also visited some stunning local donor meadows that will provide the seed for the rest of the sites! 😍 Plantlife

Feeling like Cinderella, as this is currently how I spend my evenings, sorting the seed from the chaff! I am getting through a lot of TV dramas in the process. Tonight it is the turn of the Knapweed, any TV recommendations?
