FLAMES IN SPACE: WHY THEY FORM SPHERES

In space, flames appear as spheres, not teardrops like on Earth.

This is because microgravity prevents convection currents from forming, so heat and gases distribute evenly around the ignition source.

This results in uniform oxygen and…

Historic Vids Usain Bolt sprints and drinks champagne in zero-gravity

In space, there is an absence of gravitational pull or, more accurately, there is very weak gravity acting on objects. This state of near-weightlessness is often referred to as microgravity. While gravity still exists in…

NASA Scientists have found various strains of bacteria on the ISS. These new strains are probably created by microgravity and radiation conditions. Since the astronauts are grilled for immunity these modified bacteria may not have had any effects yet.Future mission check?

After floating gracefully in microgravity, their bodies have to relearn how to stand upright on solid ground. But here's the catch: weakened leg muscles and cardiovascular changes mean standing up can make them feel dizzy or even faint!

You may have heard astronauts saying their back pain went away in space because the microgravity environment allowed their spine to lengthen slightly. I had the opposite experience and found the lack of gravity causing my vertebrae and ligaments to stretch in space - actually…
