and itโ€™s a little tiny boy (goniatid, Devonian, maybe like 4mm?) and a piece of his larger goniatid brother in arms. Love those suture lines. Love that orange crinoid jammed all up in his side.

Peedee belemnites! These Cretaceous squid-like cephalopods from the Peedee Formation of SC have been used historically as international geochemical standard samples for isotopic studies (e.g. Carbon). Belemnites went extinct 66 mya at the K/Pg boundary.

GM โ˜•to Phestilla melanobrachia aeolid It has both black and bright orange-yellow colour forms. The colour matching the colour of the dendrophylliid coral (Tubastrea, Dendrophyllia) on which specimens are feeding on.
