Today's our National Autism Trainer Programme conference! Dr Georgia Pavlopoulou is calling for accessible therapies.
Autistic people have poorer access to mental health care, despite being more likely to experience anxiety or depression than the general population.

Peter Fonagy at our conference today:
'We want to change the narrative about neurodiversity and mental health. #NATPMentalHealth is a great example of how we can achieve this, drawing on the expertise of autistic people of all ages, and adopting a ‘train the trainer’ model.'
I had an absolutely amazing day! And what an honour to have my name even associated with #NATPmentalhealth !
Lauren Fernandez now explains: 'if #NATPMentalHealth had been available, I doubt I would have been detained at the hospital. And if I would, staff trained in this training would be able to adopt trauma informed conversations that could have saved me & them from many escalations.'
Listening to the incredible speakers at this conference has brought tears to my eyes and hope that change is happening.
