Our Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) are open 8am-8pm seven days a week.

Ilkeston UTC is currently operating an appointment-only service via NHS111; Ripley UTC is open to walk-in patients only.

Yesterday, in my case for NHS111 and 999 to work, it meant initiative and responsibility from both the patient and medical team. As a medical student having some informed knowledge and support, I recognised the urgency.

❗The first responders who accepted my 999 call had no idea some of the key red flags of my medical problem. The first dismissed me very quickly, the second didn't know what it was either, but if you followed the pathway this was the first step that the NHS111 website offered!
