My Letter to the Editor opposing #ACA1 was published in the The Sacramento Bee last Sunday. Lowering the threshold for tax increases by any entity should raise a red flag. 🚩 ACA 1 would undermine #Prop13 and make it easier to raise taxes by lowering the voter approval threshold. 1/3

BREAKING: the Senate just passed ACA 1 & ACA 13, both dangerous constitutional amendments that lowers the voting threshold to raise local taxes and raises the threshold to lower taxes, direct attacks on #Prop13 .

#ACA13 seeks to undermine #Prop13 and would lead to unfair property tax increases, making homeownership even less affordable and attainable for Californians. #CALeg , vote NO on ACA 13. #ProtectProp13 #NOonACA13

The Democrat Supermajority just passed #ACA13 in order to destroy taxpayer protections enshrined in #Prop13 . Government will never be satisfied and will always want more of your money which is why I will always fight to protect #Prop13 .

In 1977, California $1,000 above the national average per pupil

Then #Prop13 passed in 1978

By 1983, California was spending slightly below the national average

By 2015, California was spending $1,900 below the national average. 41st in the nation

The city raise came because maybe it’s beneficial for a public entity’s workers to live where they work (we don’t hire out of CA for CA jobs)
