In Kos Town on the island of Kos (GR) long stretches of the two main streets of the Roman period, decumanus maximus and cardo, are visible. The roadways with sidewalks on both sides and drainage underneath still show the deep ruts from the vehicle wheels.

In 1959, Drage's Mead on the boundary of Braughing & Puckeridge in Herts, was sown with wheat for the first time in living memory. The following summer the crop sprouted a diagram in corn of a meeting of ways: the great Ermine Street is clearest here

For the glory of Rome! Marble Arch at the junction of Oxford Street, Park Lane and Edgware Road. Or, to put it another way, the junction of the Via Trinobantina (Silchester - Colchester) and Watling Street (Wroxeter - Dover/Richborough.))

For most of its journey from Scotch corner to Penrith the A66 follows the road (RR82). Occasionally, as here in the high Stainmore pass, , it deviates to pass 'Maiden Castle' Fortlet. Other routes squeeze through the pass here.

- The Via Domitia - the first Roman road built in Gaul, to link Italy & Hispania. The road was regulated & resurfaced by the ancient Romans. Due to its old age, it was linked to the legendary hero Herakles. Hannibal followed it on his way from Hispania to Italy.

This is the Roman Road that runs through Perthshire in Scotland along the ancient frontier known as the Gask Ridge. Constructed c. AD 70-80, it is lined with the remains of watch towers, like this one at Ardunie.

Ermine Street, a half-mile or so south of the Roman town at Wickham Hill, Braughing, Herts. The modern A10 thunders past Puckeridge on a bypass, leaving this stubby little bit of the original road behind as a footpath/cycleway.
