I soon found out I had a #SCAD - Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection. SCAD is rare, only 4% of HAs. But over 90% of SCADs are in women, either their 40s-50s or pregnant women. My primary artery to the left side of my heart had torn and blocked blood flow to part of my heart.
GALAS, AAAN, and SCAD call attention to the collective safety of LGBTQ+ Armenians, the need for active allyship, and the dangers of stereotyping the Armenian population.
