Spring mapping season has kicked off in Western Canada! We are not only busy in the field, we also have map developers and file writers hard at work in the office. Our #SWATMAPS file writers are busy getting prescription files ready to go in time for seeding.
#Swatcam hitting the fields for pre-seed weed control-Capturing thousands of images across SWAT MAPS farms. At this stage will automatically produce a map of pre-seed weed pressure by #swatzone . Next pass will provide plant counts, crop coverage, and weed pressure by #swatzone
Want to demo #swatmaps this spring to see if it is a fit for you? Lots of opportunity to try a field or two. See what farming soil, water and topography provides versus satellite imagery, yield or grid approaches.
Mapping with SWAT MAPS#swatbox in full swing now. Common objection to VR - We're flat so minimal variability. Only 9 ft elevation range in this SW MB field, but high EC range at 177ms/m! Big influence from water/salts here. Low + High EC in depressions-do not use EC on its own!
Sometimes EC on its own doesn’t make a lot of sense when your trying to map a zone map. Being in the field and using the 3D viewer, shows that the low EC is actually the depression areas in this field. What else is impacting soil and nutrient movement and response? SWAT MAPS
Growing season prep on the agtech side of things involves weather station/soil moisture install training. Moisture profile was looking pretty good at this point. Soil moisture has a lot of spatial variability so sensors are only step 1 in the #SWATWATER process SWAT MAPS#water
Precision seed and fertilizer application has advanced considerably in the past few years. Want to learn about the #swatmaps methods used on millions of acres internationally?
