Remembering Bloody Sunday and the fight in John Lewis extends to us all. We will never give up until everyone has no roadblocks to vote. It’s the most fundamental right we have.

On March 7, 1965, AL state troopers beat voting-rights demonstrators, including John Lewis, as they tried to cross the
Edmund Pettus Bridge. Weeks later, Martin Luther King successfully led marchers on the 50-mile march to Montgomery.

John Lewis was beaten by state troopers on the Edmund Pettus Bridge 58 years ago today on Bloody Sunday.

John Lewis nearly died for the right to vote — then spent his life inspiring racists to evolve, cynics to dream and the voiceless to speak and make Good Trouble.

It's disgraceful that in the year 2023, we are still fighting for basic human & civil rights.
Let today be a reminder: we must continue the fight. Their deaths can't be in vain. Let the spirit of greatness guide us

With a divided Congress, it's all the more important for President Biden to do everything he can to protect the vote, including making voter registration accessible. His whole-of-government approach is commendable & we urge him to finish the job!
