Spider Crab (possibly Macropodia rostrata) - One of several interesting species seen on todays KWT at Minster, Sheppey.
They decorate themselves with algea (seaweed) and sponges - this one has chosen a red seaweed.

Excited to be making the most of the Wildlife and Countryside Link volunteering policy to join Rachel Langley EWT for a shoresearch survey today. Helping to build understanding of species around the Essex coastline.

Amazing colour variation of Ragworm species seen yesterday at Margate - I'd not noticed the crab hiding in plain site.

One of several tiny anemone (initially thought fan worm, but with massive crop...) found by group in the silt near Minster, Sheppey yesterday. About 0.5 cm with tentacles exposed. This the most colorful, most brown. Very responsive to touch!
