Today we role-played a baptism. I, the vicar, baptised a baby (we didn’t have a real baby to hand) with the “parents” and godparents present. We didn’t do it at the sink, we did it at our “font” and we all welcomed the baby boy to the Christian Church.

We learnt about Hanukkah, a Jewish festival that is celebrated usually in December. People celebrate with different traditions, food, games and gifts. Here, we lit a menorah and ate some sufganiyot, which is like a jam donut.

In RE, we found out all about how Jews celebrate Hanukkah. We made our own Menorah and lit the candles then ate donuts like Jewish people do when they are celebrating! St Silas CE Primary School

In RE, we continued learning about Judaism. This week we looked at how Jews celebrate Harvest. They make a den called a Sukkah. Here we are in our own Sukkah in Forest School! St Silas CE Primary School
