A few bees found in gardens today, but the #silentspring continues. Such a great year for hedgerows; cow parsley and hawthorn blossom in profusion but barely an insect to be seen. It's all just too quiet. Fingers crossed for numbers recovering over this year!
There seems to be a north/south divide in the terrible absence of insects right now #silentspring I wonder if last summer can explain things?
All farmed salmon get treated with formaldehyde when they are young. Even the organic ones, isn't that right Soil Association ?
But what could possibly be wrong with pouring tons of toxic chemicals into our environment and onto our food?

I've not been on twitter for a few days. Really surprised to see the #silentspring hashtag, as its nothing but quiet in the Highlands. Full of insects, bumble Bees and birds. Nature is so alive here, I'm not taking it for granted. We found two damselflies in the house today.

Garden in bloom, but fewer insects compared to last year. We had Mayflies and St. Mark's flies in abundance for a few days, but few bees and butterflies. Partner was commenting on their absence, I said 'I hope they're just late', but now I'm not so sure :/ #silentspring
