Knutsford Royal May Day Parade on Saturday. A colourful procession led by the town crier + Jack in the Green (utilising Leylandii cuttings). Vintage tractors, unicyclists, Morris dancers, brass and piped band plus, above all, lots of fancy dress kids having fun. Great stuff.

Pub Sign of the Week: Olde Kings Head, Gurnett, Cheshire.

Reminding you of when pub signs were good. Love the simplicity here (despite the lack of apostrophe). A candid portrait of a troubled monarch but which one? Such a simple crown. Alfred? Athelstan?

Painting of the Week: “Dumbleton Hall Leaving Kingswear” - Don Breckon (1983)

The lads in the rowing boat assess the possibility of detonating the bridge if ever Philadelphia Robin or Vancouver Red Dragon - the trains named after Wre*ham's co-owners - pass over it.

it seems terrible in this day & age the is no bus from silloth to maryport the should be a bus from silloth to workington the is plenty of bus firms that could sort out transport if the was a bus to maryport three days a week from silloth & a bus to workington two days a week.
