#PSSD is the new #Sodiumvalproate scandal is the new #Thalidomide scandal. ”The committee assessing the medication (Sodium valproate) found it was ‘liable to produce’ abnormalities in the foetus but ‘the risk appears to be low and not sufficient to justify stopping its use’. ”
A redress scheme for families who have suffered from exposure to valproate has been proposed by the Patient Safety Commissioner.
