#TympanumTuesday Church of Saint Julian from Mars-sur-Allier in Burgandy. The upper part of it reminds me of the one in Dumbleton, Gloucs.

The fantastic 12thC tympanum at St Edmund's, Egleton is full of character. Two winged creatures (possibly a wyvern and a dragon) support a flower like wheel with horned beastie heads either side.

I went for a refreshing visit to the 12C St John’s, Elkstone, Gloucestershire and it was as good as ever. For #TympanumTuesday here’s Christ on a cushioned throne with the evangelists’ symbols around him. And superb beakheads.
