Lara Logan Lara...the VDR only records data that is fed into it. When the ship lost power there was no data to be sent. It did record the bridge conversation.

The log is not written until after the event. USCG & NTSB would have deposed the pilots and crew and start to retrieve other data.

USS Leyte Gulf and USCG LEDET strike again! 🚢 On patrol in U.S. Southern Command, they intercepted a drug smuggling vessel, seizing 2,370 kg of cocaine.

With HSM 50's support, they detained the crew and sank the vessel.
