I just hung my son's Very Hungry Caterpillar drawing yesterday!
Happy Very Hungry Caterpillar Day!
#VCHday Penguin Random House 🐧🏠📚 Eric Carle Museum
Hello VCH friends! If you're joining us for the #VCHDay today, please drop into our special display in the Olga Crisp Room IHR Wohl Library. Lots of interesting VCH history and ephemera (including treasures from the archive's #VCHNonsense folder...)
Thanks to all the VCH contributors, colleagues & friends who joined us for our #VCHDay Institute of Historical Research last week. Here are some of the thoughts we shared on:
What is the VCH?
What's special about the VCH?
What opportunities are there for the VCH?
Thanks for all your ideas and input!
It was wonderful to be at my 2nd #VCHDay yesterday. It marked a year of me being part of the Victoria County History Centre for the History of People Place & Community & Institute of Historical Research team! It’s a massive privilege to be part of all these communities & as ever I learnt a huge amount yesterday from all our amazing VCH contributors
With their myriad of activities the VCH is central to so much English local history research and a lynch-pin, whether in physical or digital format, to the IHR library's #localhistory collections.
#VCHDay Victoria County History
Making plans with Senate House Library for a visit to Special Collections on our upcoming Victoria County History annual #VCHDay . Excited to see that we've VCH friends & colleagues joining us from: Cumbria, Durham, Essex, Hants, Leics, Gloucs, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Somerset, & Wilts (so far)!
Yesterday Victoria County History #VCHDay , we launched the #VCH120 #RedBoxes initiative. I modelled a prototype, with objects telling the history of the place where I grew up, through my own experiences. Our room full of #LocalHistory experts guessed where it was - can you? (Thread/clues👇)
Terrific discussion right now in our last session Victoria County History #VCHDay Institute of Historical Research today. Brilliant ideas & input from everyone here - buzzing!
This may be of particular interest to members of the Victoria County History community who have Seely & Paget churches in their areas of research. Happening the day before #VCHDay less than 2 miles from Institute of Historical Research you could make a bigger trip of it!
