Its always a challenge to get a Cettiโs Warbler pic, but after a couple of bursts instead of flying off this one had a little snoozeโฆ WWT Welney today
Cracking day WWT Welney
The sun shone.
The wind dropped.
Booming bittern
Peregrine hunting
Little ringed plover displaying
Black-tailed godwits laying
And an amazing 16 Great White Egrets

Nice to see Terns arriving back at Welney today, flock of 21 Common terns flew North along the Washes in the morning, in the afternoon there was about 10 terns in front of the main observatory, mainly Common with a couple of Artic terns mixed in.

A couple of excellent (but bloody chilly) days birding out east. Highlights included Otter at WWT Welney plus Black-winged Stilt, Black Tern, Little Gull and a distant Red-breasted Goose at RSPB Frampton Marsh ๐.
Had a bit of a surprise as I was leaving WWT Welney this afternoon, looked up to see this White Stork gliding South at a fair speed, shame about the horrendous heat hazeโฆ
It seemed that one pair of Shelduck wanted the same bit of water as another pair, so plenty of displaying, calling and chasing ensued WWT Welney today
WHAT a shot! ๐ท๐
