On my way this morning to the groundbreaking of the MLK Way Safety project. This corridor was sited for improvements in 2015, with several delays over the past 8 years.
MLK Way south of I-90 has had 67 collisions this year. 91 last year.

In honor of #weekwithoutdriving , here is a *very* partial inventory of blocked/missing/generally busted sidewalks I encountered on a single ten minute walk to the coffee shop.
Just surpassed 3,000 miles of ๐ฒ commuting this year, and itโs not been easy. #WeekWithoutDriving exposing the need for colossal shift in infrastructure investment for people to traverse this city safely without a car. Way too many obstacles for vast majority of public.

Short errand in Parkland, so I rode my bike. Sunny day, some traffic and while there were not formal bike lanes, in some places the paved right-of-way was wide enough and clear to ride in, but not the whole way. #WeekWithoutDriving
A little wetter than usual but otherwise my #WeekWithoutDriving is very similar to my last 3 years of commute/school drives. I canโt believe few years ago I was afraid to bike in the rain, itโs actually not bad at all with the right gear.
