A beautiful book that I had to read in small doses, my favourite from this year's Women's Prize so far by far. A challenging portrayal of the early years of parenthood, which took me back to some of my own dark moments. Absolutely stunning writing.
Some fascinating novels on this year's Women's Prize shortlist. I've read two & have just ordered the other four.
My favourite winners over the years include Larry's Party, Half of a Yellow Sun, The Road Home, and The Song of Achilles.
Bilingual writer Elif Shafak eloquently expresses the freedom that comes with learning to express yourself in another language, talking to our wonderful #Bookshelfie host Vick Hope.

A visceral and painfully frank account of motherhood, this is a beautiful novel with overarching themes of gender inequality and identity. Given I'm not a mother, I was surprised how relatable it was. I can absolutely see why it was shortlisted for the Women's Prize #BookTwitter
Congratulations to all authors and novels shortlisted for the #WomensPrize in Fiction!
Among the two I have read so far, Claire Kilroy’s wonderful ‘Soldier Sailor’ gets my vote. 📚
I'm not a photographer but I am an eclectic reader & no one satisfies more than Bert’s Books! Includes Women's Prize & the new Marian Keyes, so I can test it's mammy-safe before she visits me in heathen country on Friday. And a tote - can't wait to start spotting these in the wild
Impossible to describe the gratitude I feel: RIVER EAST, RIVER WEST has been shortlisted for the Women's Prize. Being in the company of these authors I so love and admire is the greatest honor. Thank you to the judges, my incredible editors, and readers!!!!! 💛💛💛
Thrilled with this shortlist, and very pleased to have picked five out of six, which is my Personal Best for shortlist predictions.
All are potentially worthy winners, but I am rooting for Brotherless Night, the book which I am most grateful to Women's Prize for introducing me to!
