Wrapping up Bear Awareness Week with Kacey, the Sun Bear!

Sun bears are the smallest species of bear typically weighing anywhere between 60-150lbs. Kacey, however, is large for a sun bear and weighs around 220lbs!

My happy place ZooTampa at Lowry Park never disappoints. We are proud to be members and contribute to the conservation of animals. 💛

I just love feeding the sweet Lorikeets ZooTampa at Lowry Park One of my favorite things to do at the zoo! ♥️

Malcolm is a blue-faced honeyeater, a common type of bird found in northern and eastern Australia. 🍯 However, Malcolm and Murphy can be hard to spot in one of the Zoo's busiest aviaries! 🦜

Our curious crocodilian friends are hardly interested in the turtles. With a unique snout, the gharials are excellent at catching and eating fish, but not pond turtles. 🐢

Juliet, one of three Manatees rescued from Miami SeaQuarium, has passed away at ZooTampa.

She got to spend the final few months of her life in peace and comfort, receiving proper care, something that most who have spent time within the SeaQuariums walls do not get the luxury of.

You have seen her, you have fallen in love with her, and now she has a name! 🦛

📣We are pleased to introduce Ruka, meaning “to hop” in Swahili! Ruka has been busy bonding with mom, Zsa Zsa, and becoming more confident in her swimming skills. 🌊
