P.S. about Cheap Trick's live 'I Want You To Want Me' in this week's #AT40 in '79: Casey's intro describing CT as, essentially, hitless in the U.S., completely ignores the fact that the Tricksters had hit it big the previous summer of '78 with 'Surrender.' #StaffFail

#AT40 is mid-June 1979. I out of high school, going up to UMass in the day to get better at calculus (I did not succeed), working as a janitor at night, signing for student loans at gigundous 14 pct rates, counting the days until college started, and going to the movies.
Talk strayed from music to cocktails during the Terence Begley space following todayโs countdown. My current summer drink is strawberry lemonade with vodka. #AT40
Starting out with We Are Family! Big song for my sisters and I at my wedding. Will probably not be here the whole time today. Celebrating the big 6 5 today! #AT40
I was driving back and forth to UMass (40 mins or so each way) in a car with an AM radio, and I probably heard this #AT40 , but all of these songs are burned into my brain from hours of boredom in the car along Rts 116 and 202 in Western Mass.
