Bertrand Cooper These ADOS/FBA extremists entirely rely on the myth of Black Americans as the ultimate uninfluenced influencer as the cornerstone of their cultural fascism, and I have to believe most of the people who say this know it *can’t* be true.

Bertrand Cooper It’s grievance + optimism: “if we were just given a *fair* shot, we could conquer the world!” The primary driver of nazism’s war jingoism was the belief in Germany that the army was “stabbed in the back” by the politicians. It’s a common refrain of Vietnam vets too.

Bertrand Cooper Has it been studied? Are there papers out there? It sounds like a good research topic but there are all sorts of operationalization and data collection issues to prove the point that connections trump skills/merit. It would be update on the famous Strength of Weak Ties thesis.

Bertrand Cooper I mean in its inception there’s strong argument to be made that hip hop’s lineage traces back to Jamaica 🤷🏽‍♂️
