It was so important to me to show portraits of South Asian women in spaces that we usually failed to see ourselves in. Subverting and challenging the narrative we're so used to seeing through subtle (yet powerful) interventions. #britishtextilebiennial

#KHADI has now been extended until 18th December, commissioned by @britishtextilebiennial. An exhibition about cotton, protest and freedom, charting Gandhi's visit to Lancashire in 1931 and my father's story as a textile mill worker. Truly blessed to have made this work.
