Forte Kochi has maintained its historic legacy, including the natural holy spring seen here.

This spring is over 200 years old and is known as the mikveh or mikvah. It is a bath used for ritual immersion in Judaism to achieve ritual purity.

Having been the home of one of the wealthiest Jewish merchant families in historic Fort Kochi, the beautiful holy spring is perfectly preserved to this day and is the only one known to exist in Kerala today.
