On our walks this afternoon we captured this beautiful looking Chiffchaff, perched in the woodland area. It's nice to hear them singing, a good sign that Spring is really here.

A sweet little chiffchaff sheltering from the biting cold wind and rain here in Norfolk.

After leaving the Butterfly's we had a look in the woodland area. And just above our heads there perched a Chiffchaff looking down at us.

Late morning at the lakes, Common Sandpiper Engine near the Causeway, Swallows, Sand Martins, Goldfinches and the little hybrid Ducks Engine, Chiffchaff, Greylags Terry's, Blackcaps both 30sp.

A Chiffchaff collecting feathers.
When brooding, the f will leave the nest frequently to feed - as much as every 30/40 mins!
Important then, that the nest is lined with a thick thermal insulation of feathers.
Other warblers like the Blackcap & Whitethroat have grass-lined nests.

Glorious #MorningWalk cold & clear, a few Lady’s smock on the verge, saw/heard Pheasant, Chiffchaff, Stock dove, Great t*t, Chaffinch, Blackbird, Jackdaw & geese honking in the distance 😀🥾🌿🌸
