Chief Engineering Officer Richard Colvin died in 1942 at 47 years old. He served in the Merchant Navy aboard the ill-fated Arctic Convoy ship, S.S. Chulmleigh.

He now lies in our care in our most northerly plot in the world, Tromso Cemetery, Norway.

Another bus journey, this time on the 5C from Exeter towards Chulmleigh.

The bus routes in this part of Devon have some very nice scenery, possibly better than the train on the Barnstaple line which runs a similar route.

Late medieval screen 'very complete' including ribbed coving. Three bands of running ornament in cornice. Tracery with tiny shields between. Beautiful, even if adorned with projection screen and fairy-light cross (not shown obvs).

Today sees us heading to Lynton & Lynmouth Cricket Club to face Devon Dumplings

Halfway up the Taw Valley near Chulmleigh now, the low sky is full of Swallows and Martins and Sparrows, the high sky has Ravens going somewhere northeast, Exmoor maybe. I like it here.
