🎤 Dr. Kalay has been serving as the President of the METU Science and Society Center for years. He is also the founding president of the METU Science Communication Office.

Last weekend was such an exciting and insightful time with my colleagues at ComSciCon - ATL 2024. We went from learning techniques used in performing arts to making Play-Doh sculptures representing our research. Embracing the importance of science communication.

Beyond lab work, adequately communicating research findings is important. As anticipated, Day1 of ComSciCon flagship 2023 was filled with insightful sessions on creative storytelling, data visualization and mind blowing discussion on hope&SciCom.

Heading back to Michigan after a wonderful 3 days at ComSciCon in Boston. As scicomm is mainly about telling stories, I enjoyed hearing science stories amazingly blended with personal experiences from fellow scicomm enthusiasts and being part of this awesome community.

The most valuable part of #ComSciCon was the friends I met! I’ve never been around a more passionate, kind, and knowledgeable group of people. The future is truly bright, and I’m so excited to see all the incredible stories that will be brought into the world. Thank you! (end/🧵)
