A curlew sandpiper has present this morning on the river plym .

Blaxton Meadow this evening did not disappoint! Finally had an evening free to catch up with the Curlew Sand. Other highlights were Whimbrels, a stunning Dunlin, Stock Doves, Com Sandpipers, Lesser BBG, Greenshanks, Swallows and Curlews. 41sp all in all!

Just about to give up when I saw this Spotted Flycatcher, then realised it was singing and that it wasn't a Flycatcher. Also trip additions Curlew, Greenshank, Little Tern and a flock of 17 Wood Sandpipers. Purring Turtle Dove is always a treat.

My first Broad billed sandpipers of the spring at lady’s Mile + 8 Curlew sandpiper, Marsh sandpiper, Wood sandpiper, Greenshank, 250+ Ruff, 200+ Little stint, 40 Ringed plover, 30+ Kentish plover & 40+ Black winged stilt.

In ten minutes of watching this #curlew it had to fend off crows five times, 16 of them in total. Poor thing hasn’t much of a chance of a successful season.
