Honoured to have my letter and concept on #COVID19 published in JTH. #SARSCoV2 causes #endotheliopathy and release of ULVWF which binds platelets causing microthrombosis. This process is important in high shear stress so can account for arterial thrombosis.

Check out the Neal Lab and Colleagues new review article on vWF's effects on thrombosis and inflammation in critical illness! Would not be surprised if many of the concepts could be extrapolated to the endotheliopathy seen in COVID-19.
