Just started 2nd batch of Endozoochory experiment. We simulated rumen conditions in vitro to explore how cattle gut fluid influences weed seed viability and germination. Understanding endozoochory's role in spreading weeds could help us manage invasive plants more effectively!

以前這方面相關的研究都是著眼在脊椎動物上,但最近日本的研究發現,無脊椎動物也有這個技能喔!

論文(2011)。9種のカタツムリに2種の地衣類の葉状体を摂食させ、糞ペレットから再繁殖されるか調査。Lobaria pulmonariaで29.0%、Physcia adscendensで40.9%がペレットから地衣体を生じた。カタツムリによる地衣類の体内性分散(endozoochory)が可能であることが示された。 journals.plos.org/plosone/articl…
