Yesterday marked 1 year since the major flooding through our area. Nice to see local communities recovery progress (esp. Eugowra), cutting lucerne on the river flats again & getting H2 wheat samples.

On this day one year ago, floodwaters swept through Eugowra. The flash flood caused widespread destruction and forced residents to seek refuge in trees and on rooftops. As the disaster unfolded, RFS members provided crucial assistance to the NSW SES from rescue to clean up.

Earthquake swarms like this one in Tasmania pop up from time to time in different parts of the country, and often settle down quickly. When close to towns they can be a concern to residents, as we saw at Eugowra NSW in the late 90s. The largest event there was magnitude 4.1

Last year, a severe flash flood impacted the small town of Eugowra, destroying homes, businesses and even the local station. Last week, $1 million worth of funding was announced to rebuild the station on higher ground, so the brigade can continue to serve their community.

It’s been 12 months since Eugowra and other parts of Central West NSW were hit by record floods.

With more support just announced, the Albanese Government will always stand with communities impacted by natural disasters as they recover.

One of the highlights of The Eugowra Flood Relief 23 Harness meeting was the mini trotters and looks like the future is bright especially with another generation of Turnbulls in the carts. 🔴⚪️🔵

Eugowra’s classic cars are revving back to life after being damaged in the floods.

I got a sneak peak ahead of tonight's classic car show, and it's safe to say locals have put in a big effort.

Kay and Max lost almost everything in the devastating floods that hit Eugowra at the end of 2022.

When I visited the community then, homes had been torn from their foundations and pushed onto the street.

We said we’d do everything we could to help locals get back on their feet.
