It's kind of hilarious that Tim Alberta wrote an entire book about the crisis in evangelicalism and didn't mention Christian Zionism once. Just a complete failure of his duties as an intellectual.

.Verdant 🇵🇸 You're a literal cop & your replies to Nazis started another bs 'call-out' on one of my friends.

All Cops Are Bastards.

🇺🇸-style evangelicalism is a slippery slope to witch-hunt brainrot. Your sexual insecurity is your problem to deal with, not ours. Stop projecting.

I honestly didn’t realize how transactional Christians made relationships until I left evangelicalism.

I’m the breadwinner, btw. Does that mean my husband’s body is just… at my disposal? His consent doesn’t matter because I make the money? The implications of this are gross.

I found these results reassuring. The people drawn to Lutheranism want distinctive Lutheranism. The largest divide seems to be 60-80 years old and everyone younger. Older crowd wants evangelicalism. Everyone else wants Lutheranism, statistically.

Wow. 65% of American evangelicals deny original sin, and 43% deny Jesus’ divinity. So, literal heretics! But 90%+ are resolute against extramarital sex and abortion.

@Kkdumez’s argument that evangelicalism is a culture rather than an set of beliefs has never looked stronger.

Why do I write constantly about Robert Dabney, a late 19th century enslaver? Because his ideas, thoughts, style, philosophy and doctrine have washed over American evangelicalism.

Neo-confederate ideology.

Come see how.

Parallel dynamic to Christianity where people thought in 1900 some kind of ecumenical theological liberalism would be the wave of the future and then evangelicalism/Pentecostalism ended up massively outnumbered them both due to births and converts.

Evangelicals have sometimes been so preoccupied to defend the Gospel that they have forgotten to truly proclaim the Gospel with boldness, and to truly apply the Gospel to all of life.

This diluted approach led to three related problems within modern evangelicalism:

1. cowardice

Andy Stanley saying you don't have to believe the Bible to be a Christian; William Lane Craig's Molinism; charismatic visions of heavenly beings; preaching works to be saved or stay saved...

Examples of how the corruption of Roman Catholicism is still within evangelicalism.

The New Testament urges believers to do good works as the outworking of genuine faith. The history of evangelicalism affirms that those who truly trust in Christ will want to obey him and be salt and light. Lecture by Revd Dr Richard Turnbull. youtu.be/9VaelT2RNdc
