Finally, our wonderful EYFS children reminded us of the power of combining all of our differences. Whilst individual colours are beautiful in their own right, what is even more beautiful is the combination of colours that makes the rainbow 🌈 inspired by Joan Miro & Alma Thomas.

I foraged some wild garlic today. And made wild garlic pesto. It tasted like eating grass. Won’t be doing that again.

After taking a tour of Buckingham Palace and discovering the white room, the children decided to make their own coloured room for the King.

I do really love being in reception! This afternoon, some girls were role playing outside and said they were Cinderella, the stepsisters and stepmum. I asked 'ahh who's being prince charming' - little girl replied 'no one, we don't need a prince charming'!!' 🤣 love it!

🧵Oracy.
One of the three prime areas in EYFS is communication and language. It's a prime area because it's fundamental to success both academically and generally. This doesn't diminish as children move through key stages.

'Children under 5 should not be inactive for long periods, except when they're asleep.'

We need to celebrate *moving*, not sitting, for healthy development!

We are so proud of Reception’s Art outcomes from last half term! We loved reflecting on our learning during our ‘Art Showcase’ today and looking at other year groups’ too 🥰 🎨

The Ofsted/DfE idea of learning as a 'change in long term memory' is particularly problematic for because we support children's overall development. It leads to weird contortions like on this bizarre Ofsted slide.
