ScottE HackProof Kristi Noem She was trying to train it to hunt gamebirds. After chasing pheasants all day, she was negligent in preventing the dog from jumping out of car & going after chickens. Our dogs on our farm kill raccoons & coyotes. They are not 'blood thirsty dogs'

Didn't notice those and wouldn't know the significance

Why didn't I guess!?

Killing birds attracted by non native gamebirds being laid down So shooters can kill and then bury the majority of them

I know it's a good earner but...

How many gamebirds (pheasants, red-legged and grey partridges) are released across Europe on average per year?

Yoshi The Patriot Perhaps you should learn more about properly training a hunting dog for gamebirds like pheasants, ducks, etc., then you may understand why this dog went after chickens.
Noem failed to properly train her puppy the basic “sit” “stay” “leave it” commands.

Glyn Jones If you say so! I've seen plenty of perfectly valid concern that high densities of released gamebirds may be contributing to local declines of reptiles - you wouldn't be referring to those people, would you? I've never seen anyone say that only pheasants kill snakes though. Weird!

Seth Abramson It's likely Kristi Noem selected Cricket as a hunting dog based on snobbery w/o researching the breed. Drahthaars are extremely tough and capable of handling furred game as well as gamebirds. They require a lot of hard exercise & excellent training.

sleguilFR Alex Lees Most of these gamebirds have important epigenetic features regarding the gut, incl. musculature, gut flora etc., I would think the Caper more than most. (E.g. eats conifer shoots & flowers). If these'd been captive-bred & fed they would have had even less chance of survival. 2/2
