SCOTLAND DAY 5 (FINAL):

Started with visiting Nethy Bridge in Highland, with a stunning range of woodland birds to see.
Eyemouth was halfway between Highland and home, the Eiders and Seals showing beautifully in the harbour, Kittiwakes and Gannets over the sea.

60 Red Breasted Mergansers in the river mouth at Leven this afternoon, at the point of high tide. Other species to note, Purple Sandpipers, Redshank, Gannets, Razorbills, hundreds of common Scoter, Eider, the first Wheatear and more Long Tailed Ducks than I’ve seen all winter.

A Cornish cove day, with gannets diving & seals bobbing in the sea. One youngster was even hauled up on the sand. Rockpooling, & swimming for the brave, with chiffchaffs always singing in the cliff scrub behind us, & a buzzard soaring. πŸŒŠπŸ’™

A return visit to the Pier this afternoon. Still at least 4 Wheatear, some Gannets were feeding just offshore and my 1st Willow Warbler of the year was feeding at the base of the Rosa Ragusa bushes by the Pier. Durham Bird Club
